The alcohol we use in Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Wash is obtained from the fermentation of sugarcane, via distillation. This simple, sustainable process yields ‘95%’ cosmetic grade ethanol, so-called because it is comprised of 95% ethanol and 5% water, the highest concentration of ethanol that can be obtained by simple distillation.
The overall percentage of alcohol included in the formulation is greater than 60%, however taking into account the presence of 5% water—considering only ‘pure’ ethanol content—the percentage included is ~59%.
Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Wash is an ideal portable option while braving the great outdoors, when there is a need to touch surfaces—such as door handles, shopping baskets, trolleys—in common or public areas. While we advocate the use of Rinse-Free Hand Washes in such circumstances, it is important to understand that cosmetic products such as Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Wash cannot wholly guarantee the prevention of transmission of contagious viruses, infections or diseases. If you are concerned, we recommend seeking advice from a medical professional.
